The Whitetail Expedition features the Simmons' Aspherical lens system which flattens the light path as it ravels through the scope. This results in a wider field of view and a clearer, sharper image all the way to the edges of your view.

It has a longer eye relief than most conventional wide angle systems. Try one out an make your next hunting expedition a success! Each scope in this series features camera-quality fully muti-coated lenses, fingertip windage and elevation adjustment at 1/4 MOA, fast focus eye-piece, a truplex reticle, and are shockproof, waterproof, and fogproof.

Not bad for the price

A huge leap forward for Simmons when the company introduced aspherical lens elements to their atec series line of scopes, the aspherical elements refer to the shape of the lenses used in the body of the scope itself, as new methods for the manufacture of this type of lens became available (making manufacture both easier and cheaper to produce) the addition of the new elements drastically improved image clarity and light transmission. The field of view became MUCH wider and brighter when compared to scopes within the same price bracket as the atec series scopes.

*the scope boasts multi coated optics which greatly reduce lens flare,
*the scope is fog proof, shock and water resistant!
*turrets are finger adjustable and set at 1/4 MOA increments,
*a simple to use duplex style reticle which i tend to prefer as it doesn't distract me on my hunting expeditions ;)
*the scope is a variable scope, meaning you can zoom in and out between 4x and 12x, the objective lens is adjustable for parallax and has a circumference of 42mm

Overall the scope has done me proud, hasn't lost zero in the time i've had it, i can store my rifle for months on end and not have to worry about shift in POI

i would recommend this scope to anyone needing a cheap but good scope for hunting tasks, and maybe more so fitted towards that of rim fire then airgun users due to the minimum focal length being 30 yards...

Pros
*Low price for a quality scope made in the Philippines (not that crappy chinese glass the new simmons models are using)
*aspherical lenses which increase field of view within the sight picture
*hand adjustable turrets
Cons
*Minimum focal range is 25 meters / 30 yards, this makes having it on an air rifle an issue, particularly for my hunting expeditions, as many rabbits i shoot are within 10 - 30 yards, some even as close as 5 yards!
